Embrace AIDS by Pastor Chris

A few weeks ago, I preached on the Embrace AIDS initiative. I admitted that it was not quite the slogan I would have chosen. It sounds rather awkward and leaves me feeling uncomfortable. Do we really want to embrace a disease? And even if we are willing to embrace a disease, why this one? Certainly there are other diseases that we could address that don't carry the baggage that AIDS does. I don't know about you but I certainly have had some hesitancy about the sounds of this initiative. I should say, I was hesitant until I started reading more about HIV/AIDS and how it is impacting our world right now.

SERVE returns

Once again this summer, Plymouth Heights will host nearly 70 people from Ontario for our SERVE project. We are excited to engage in this incredible ministry again this summer. The SERVE participants will be here from July 12-19; and as usual, we will be relying on our congregation to provide a warm welcome to these students and their leaders as they learn to serve!

Church Sale

No, the Church is not for sale! But we are holding a sale in the community room-think really big Garage Sale!-to help raise funds for the Colorado Challenge trip this summer.
 
 Friday, June 13 ( 9am-6pm) and

Saturday, June 14 ( 9am-2pm). 

How you can help? 
     1. Drop off donations in the youth room between now and June 12 (unsold items will be donated to New2You.)

    2. Help set up the sale on Thursday, June 12 or sign up to work at the sale for a few hours. (Volunteer sign up sheets are at the Welcome Center!)

    3. Spread the Word! Tell your family and friends about the Church Sale!

    4. Come on out and shop!
